Dr. Ross Funnell

After benefitting from chiropractic health care with his family as a child, and recognising the benefits of chiropractic care to health Dr. Funnell was inspired to become a chiropractor at the age of 18.

"I considered that this was a unique approach to health and wellness and wanted to educate and provide health and wellness care to others," states Dr. Funnell.  "I was fortunate to be able to travel to the USA from New Zealand and receive a chiropractic education."

Dr. Funnell graduated from Palmer University of Chiropractic with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1977.  He then moved to Rockingham in 1981.

"I established Funnell Chiropractic in 1981and have been striving toward delivering outstanding chiropractic care in Rockingham since then," says Dr. Funnell.  "I have a brother and sister-in-law in New Zealand who are both chiropractors with a very successful chiropractic practice in Rotorua."

“I want every person to know that they have this incredible inborn innate potential within and I help them express that through having a nervous system that is functioning at optimal levels.  I am not interested in merely getting rid of your pain or your disease, I am interested in empowering you as a human being to experience a healthy life,” says Dr. Funnell.

Over his 28 years in practice Dr. Funnell has helped thousands of people regain their health and improve their quality of life.

Dr. Funnell says, “I just love being a chiropractor.  I’m so grateful for all the wonderful gifts chiropractic has brought into my life.  I doubt there is anything else better that I could have been.”

Dr Ross Asks some important questions of interest to Rockingham residents - Chiropractor Rockingham Dr Ross Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
What controls every cell, tissue and organ of your body?
DNA? Wrong. Immune system? Wrong? Hormones? Wrong. It's your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body. When a chiropractor sees a Rockingham patient with say, stomach problems, we want to know why the brain is unable to properly control and regulate the stomach. Which prompts us to examine the nervous system—the focus of chiropractic care.
