Dr. Josephine Finlayson

After completing a degree in Human Movement and Psychology I was at a crossroads as to which career path to pursue. Having always had an interest in health, and the human body, mind and spirit it was a natural progression to choose to become a Chiropractor not for what they did, but for who they were being!

Looking back, I thought at the time the decision was based on the idea that  Chiropractic was a “therapy”.   I have since found out it is so much more than that.  Chiropractic is about unlocking the potential of the human, not just removing physical symptoms, but a never ending  journey of self discovery and optimization.  We start with a strong healthy nervous system,  add together correct nutrition and right thinking and we have a recipe for teaching our potential!

I am West Australian. I graduated from RMIT in Melbourne in 2001. After three years working and travelling overseas in New Zealand and Ireland, I decided to come home three years ago to the warm climate and warm familiar faces.

Here at Funnell Chiropractic I have joined a team of people committed to the health and wellbeing of the community.

Dr Ross Asks some important questions of interest to Rockingham residents - Chiropractor Rockingham Dr Ross Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
What controls every cell, tissue and organ of your body?
DNA? Wrong. Immune system? Wrong? Hormones? Wrong. It's your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body. When a chiropractor sees a Rockingham patient with say, stomach problems, we want to know why the brain is unable to properly control and regulate the stomach. Which prompts us to examine the nervous system—the focus of chiropractic care.
